We are soliciting nominations for election to the Indiana HIMSS Board of Directors. If you are interested in running for a seat on the board, please return your nomination form by Friday, May 15th.
The Indiana Chapter of HIMSS has an annual nomination/voting process for the Board of Directors. There are three staggered Board Member classes, with board members having a 3 year term with the possibility of being reelected for a second three year term. The new term will start July 1, 2015. There are 5 Board seats up for election. There are 2 Board members leaving before their term is finished in 2017 so we will fill those positions also.
The only requirement for being a member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Chapter is that you be a dues paying member of HIMSS for at least one year. Members of the Board of Directors are required to participate in at least 50% of monthly conference call meetings of the Board and chapter events. Members of the Board of Directors are also asked to assist with planning the programs (typically, 2-3 events annually) for the Indiana Chapter. The monthly Board conference call dates are usually the third Wednesday of each month from 8:00-9:00 a.m. EST. Please review these board responsibilities to be sure you will be able to fulfill the requirements and also to be sure you are eligible to be considered for a Board seat.
Voting will be done online. The new slate of officers will be announced via email.
