Welcome

Greetings Indiana HIMSS members!

Greetings HIMSS Indiana Chapter Members,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the HIMSS Indiana Chapter, I would like to thank you for your membership and your dedication to the advancement of healthcare. This has been a challenging year for everyone. I became your Chapter President in the middle of the COVID pandemic. Like you we have been making adjustments to our program offerings and how we bring value to you.

Our events and programs will be virtual this year until further notice, but this will not limit our ability to reach you. We have recently added professional resources to increase the level of communication and outreach to you.

A couple of noteworthy 2020/2021 programs include:

Indiana’s Governor Eric Holcomb has set an ambitious goal to greatly reduce the State’s infant mortality rate and achieve the lowest rate among Midwestern states by 2024. To support these efforts, the HIMSS Indiana Chapter will conduct a virtual data challenge in coordination with Indiana FSSA, the Indiana Department of Health, Indiana Management Performance Hub, the Regenstrief Institute, KSM Consulting, Parkview Health, and BioCrossroads. Prizes will be offered in the following categories:

    • Professional Team - $1,000 for the first-place team in each topic category (3)

    • Student Team - $1,000 for the first-place team in each topic category (3) & 1-year HIMSS Student membership for each member of the first-place student teams Student prizes sponsored by HIMSS Indiana Chapter

The HIMSS Indiana Chapter will be awarding two scholarships on x (date) to provide financial assistance and recognition to qualified students in accredited programs. These scholarships will be awarded to two deserving applicants who are attending Indiana-based accredited programs.

Please return to our site regularly (there will be a new look & feel coming) or check us out on Twitter and LinkedIn.

There are many opportunities for you to engage with your fellow chapter members: attending an in-person or virtual event, volunteering to host and coordinate a meeting, speaking to students at local colleges and universities, or serving on the Chapter Program, Membership, or Communications Committees. If you are interested or have any feedback, please contact us at indiana.info@himsschapter.org.

We feel confident you will enjoy the many opportunities the HIMSS Indiana Chapter will provide to keep current on industry trends, become exposed to leading edge companies, and network with peers. We look forward to your participation.

Stay engaged,

Jim Fall
